Day 1
We depart the local area and make our way north, to Wentworth Woodhouse, one of the grandest stately homes in the country and it is at the beginning of an ambitious regeneration project. Wander through the State Rooms at your leisure, imagining yourself perhaps at a grand ball or luxurious dinner. Vast lawns stretch out from the House's beautiful baroque façade, and historic paths meander under majestic veteran trees. We arrive at the 4* Cedar Court Hotel with time to settle in before dinner.
DDay 2
Today we visit York, a city where ancient walls surround incredible local businesses, attractions, shops, and eateries. There are thirty world-class museums including the National Railway Museum, York Minster, York Castle Museum, York Dungeon & the JORVIK Viking Centre. Enjoy a cruise along the River Ouse or enjoy some retail therapy and explore the famous York Shambles.
D, BDay 3
This morning, we visit the nearby RHS Harlow Carr Gardens. Sitting in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, Harlow Carr offers a variety of growing landscapes, from running and still water, to woodland and wildflower meadows. Highlights include the lavish main borders, bursting with generous prairie-style planting, and the lush, moisture-loving plants around the streamside. In the afternoon we enjoy time at leisure in Harrogate.
D, BDay 4
After a leisurely breakfast we depart the hotel and make our way south with a stop on route at Newark, we return home mid-afternoon.
