Day 1
With an early departure we journey north to reach our ferry at Heysham for the afternoon crossing to Douglas, we then make our way north arriving at the 3* Ramsey Park Hotel in time for dinner.
DDay 2
Our excursion today takes us on the Manx Electric Railway to Laxey, home of the famous 'Lady Isabella' water wheel, and the Laxey Woollen Mill. At Laxey we join the Snaefell Mountain Railway for a glorious scenic ride to the summit, where on a clear day all 4 countries of the UK can be seen.
D, BDay 3
Today we are joined by a local guide to explore the west and north of the island. We spend time at leisure in Peel, where you can choose to visit the Castle, the House of Manannan, or just take in the harbour views with a coffee. On our return to the hotel, we cover some of the famous TT motorcycle route.
D, BDay 4
This morning, we visit Castletown, the original capital of the island. We then have time to explore Port Erin, before taking a ride on the Isle of Man Steam Railway to Douglas. Steam through the countryside of the south of the island, with its beautiful bay overlooked by majestic Bradda Head. Originally built in the late 1800's the 3 feet track gauge lines covered about 50 miles. Now only the southern line, operating since 1874, it covers around 15 miles from Port Erin to Douglas.
D, BDay 5
After an early breakfast it is time to board the ferry for the return crossing to Heysham, arriving home mid-evening.
BD=Dinner, B=Breakfast
