Scarborough & The Yorkshire Coast

Day 1

We depart the local area and make our way north with a stop on route before arriving at the 4* Crown Spa Hotel in time for dinner.

Day 2

We journey north along the Yorkshire coast line and have the morning to explore the seaside town of Whitby. From the atmospheric Abbey towering over winding cobbled streets to the windswept beach and working harbour, Whitby is not your traditional coastal town. Try some award-winning fish and chips, follow the footsteps of Bram Stoker's Dracula and English explorer Captain James Cook, or discover the history of the famous Whitby Jet. This afternoon we board the North York Moors Railway. The one-way journey takes in the awe-inspiring North York Moors National Park passing through historic stations including Goathland Station used in both Harry Potter & Heartbeat.

Day 3

This morning, we visit the beautiful Scampston Hall & Walled Gardens, one of the finest regency country houses in Yorkshire. We enjoy a guided tour of the hall, allowing us to marvel at the stunning interior and art collection before we see the spectacular contemporary garden. We then make our way to Malton, known as Yorkshire's food capital, where artisan producers and independent shops sell unique gifts and delicious food and drinks.

Day 4

Today we journey south along the Yorkshire coast to Bridlington, with its bustling harbour and golden sandy beaches. We return to the hotel via the magnificent Flamborough Head, with its rugged white cliffs and two ancient lighthouses. We have the afternoon to discover the charm of Scarborough, relax and unwind on the stunning beaches, or explore the town's fascinating history through its historic landmarks, from ancient fortresses to grand architectural gems that reveal the town's rich past.

Day 5

We depart the hotel and make our way south, stopping on route at the International Bomber Command Centre, a world-class facility to serve as a point for recognition, remembrance, and reconciliation for Bomber Command. Enjoy an external guided tour followed by time to visit the exhibition and the fantastic on-site café. We return home early evening.
