Day 1
Our great Irish adventure begins today as we make a leisurely journey into the heart of Snowdonia, arriving at our overnight base, the 3* Royal Victoria Hotel in Llanberis, dramatically set at the very foot of mighty Snowdon. A perfect introduction to the wild and breathtaking landscapes that await.
DDay 2
An early start today as we make our way to Holyhead for the morning sailing to Dublin, with a full breakfast served on board to set us up for the day ahead. We then journey through the sweeping central plains of Ireland, arriving in the wild and romantic west at the magnificently restored 3-star Clifden Station House Hotel. Once a Victorian railway station, this wonderful property has been lovingly transformed into a charming hotel just a short stroll from the lively town centre, our home for the next three nights.
D, BDay 3
Today we venture west to one of Ireland's most magical and iconic destinations: the breathtaking Kylemore Abbey Estate. Nestled amongst the mountains and lakes of Connemara, this extraordinary 1,000-acre estate has been home to a Benedictine order of nuns for over 100 years, and its beauty, history and serenity will leave a lasting impression. This afternoon we make our way to the charming town of Westport, beautifully situated on the shimmering shores of Clew Bay, for free time to explore its colourful streets, waterfront and welcoming Irish pubs.
D, BDay 4
Today is yours to discover the delights of Clifden at your own pace. Founded at the turn of the 19th century, this lively and characterful town - often called the capital of Connemara - is full of independent shops, atmospheric bars and traditional Irish hospitality. Wander the pretty streets, browse the local crafts, or simply relax and enjoy the wonderful facilities at the hotel. Whatever you choose, today is all about you.
D, BDay 5
One of the most spectacular days of the tour! We journey through the wild and elemental landscape of the Connemara National Park, with the dramatic peaks of the Twelve Bens mountain range rising magnificently around us. Our first stop is the wonderful Glen Keen Farm, where we are treated to an exhilarating sheep herding demonstration, a truly authentic taste of rural Irish life. We then head to the stunning Killary Harbour, Ireland's only true fjord, for a breathtaking cruise aboard a purpose-built ship, gliding through some of the most awe-inspiring scenery in the whole of Ireland.
D, BDay 6
After a final breakfast in Clifden, we bid a fond farewell to the wild beauty of Connemara and head east. En route we visit the Connemara Celtic Crystal Visitor Centre in Moycullen, where skilled craftspeople have been creating exquisite, hand-crafted crystal for generations - the perfect opportunity to pick up a truly special souvenir of Ireland. We continue our journey south to the historic county of Wexford for our final overnight stay at the 3* Newtown Park Hotel.
D, BDay 7
Our wonderful Irish adventure draws to a close today as we make our way to Rosslare port for the morning sailing back to South Wales, with breakfast once again served on board. We arrive home in the early evening, hearts full of the warmth, beauty and magic of the Emerald Isle.
