This morning, we take a drive to Falmouth where we join a river cruise to enjoy the natural beauty and wildlife of Falmouth Bay. This afternoon is at leisure in Falmouth.
D, BDay 3
Today we drive to the charming seaside resort of St Ives. Best known for its artistic connections, the Tate Gallery looks after the Barbara Hepworth Museum and sculpture garden (admission at own cost).
D, BDay 4
This morning, we visit the subtropical Trebah Garden, an awarding-winning valley garden with its very own secluded private beach on the Helford River. Created over 180 years ago, it has more than 5000 plants from around the world, with over 26 acres and 4 miles of paths to wander. In spring, Trebah comes alive with a colourful array of 100-year-old rhododendrons, magnolias and camellias. On our return to the hotel, we visit the county town of Truro.
D, BDay 5
Today we visit The Lost Gardens of Heligan, which just 30 years ago were unknown and unseen; lost under a tangle of weeds. A chance discovery of a door in the ruins led to the restoration of what is now considered to be one of the finest gardens in Cornwall.
Day 6
After breakfast we will start the journey home, with breaks on route for coffee and lunch, arriving back in the local area early evening.
