We set off early for Penzance this morning, from there we board our ferry to the enchanting Isles of Scilly. We arrive on the beautiful island of St Mary's the largest of the islands. Measuring approximately 2 ½ miles by 1 ¾ miles, the compact island is a delight to explore, with a selection of shops, churches and galleries dotted around the central hub, Hugh Town, as well as some charming cafes, restaurants and pubs where you can enjoy lunch. You can also stretch your legs on one of the lovely beaches, take a gentle stroll to admire the fabulous scenery or simply watch the coming and goings around the Quay before catching our return ferry.
Please note today's excursions requires an early departure from, and a late return to, our hotel.
Day 3
This morning, we head to the attractive town of Marazion, where we enjoy a photo stop to capture the tidal island of St Michaels Mount, which lies half a mile offshore. We then continue our travels to the charming seaside resort of St Ives.
D, BDay 4
Today we visit the sub-tropical paradise of Trebah Garden. Discover the magic of this beautiful 26-acre Cornish valley garden, with over four miles of footpaths. Explore under canopies bursting with exotic blooms and follow vibrant tunnels of colour that cascade down to the secluded beach on the Helford River. We return to Falmouth for the afternoon at leisure. Known for its fascinating maritime heritage, you may wish to visit the National Maritime Museum or Pendennis Castle, stroll around the harbour, beaches, galleries and shops or relax at the hotel.
