Day 1
Departing the local area, we have a lunch stop on route arriving at our hotel, the 3* White Swan Hotel with time to settle in before dinner.
DDay 2
Enjoy a relaxing morning in the medieval market town of Alnwick which still retains many of its cobbled streets, narrow alleys and fine stone buildings. This afternoon we travel to Wooler to visit Ad Gefrin. This new attraction showcases life at an Anglo-Saxon Royal Court that was located in Wooler. The immersive museum features a great hall with original artifacts telling the stories of the people who made up the Royal Court. Following our visit to the museum, we enjoy a guided tour and tasting in the distillery. Barley strains dating back to the Anglo-Saxon times are used in the distilling process to recreate a heritage whisky of this area.
D, BDay 3
Today we make our way to Seahouses where we have free time to explore at leisure. Browse the variety of stores featuring the National Trust gift store, a range of local food delis - and make sure to have a look in Farne Gift Store for a wide range of interesting and unique products. At midday make your way to the harbour to board for a 2-hour cruise to the Farne Islands. The cruise boat trip offers the chance to see a variety of wildlife including puffins and grey seals, as well as close-up views of the Grace Darling Light House.
D, BDay 4
After breakfast, we take a drive along the scenic heritage coastline to Bamburgh, where we visit Bamburgh Castle, perched on rocks at the edge of the sea, this castle boasts magnificent views of the Farne Islands. This afternoon we cross the tidal causeway to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, home to Lindisfarne Castle, one of the most distinct and picturesque features on the island. There will be some time to explore before we must leave the island before the tide turns!
D, BDay 5
After breakfast we commence our journey home with suitable stops on route, arriving back late afternoon.
